Questions

The things people ask most.

  • Is this just beautiful, or actually meaningful?
Both, we hope. Every piece is designed to be used — lit, sprinkled, tied, kept — not displayed. The box and the ritual are the gift. The aesthetic is how we invite you into it.
  • I don't really 'do rituals.' Is this for me?
Yes. A ritual here is simply a gesture held with intention — lighting a candle on a hard evening, writing one line in a journal, opening a window and pausing. Nothing requires belief; everything invites care.
  • Will the recipient actually use it?
That's the quiet test we apply to every piece. If an object can only sit on a shelf, it isn't in the collection. Candles get lit. Salts are for the threshold. The journal has prompts you'll reach for in the first week of a new home.
  • Is this culturally appropriate?
We are deliberate here. De Alma y Corazón is influenced by the family traditions of the two women who make it — one carrying forward her Latina heritage, the other blending traditions with her Latino husband. We reference symbols thoughtfully — not to replicate sacred practice, but to honor the ways people have long marked beginnings, belongings, and care. We don't claim spiritual authority, and we don't package ceremony as aesthetic.
  • What's the difference between Calor and Aire?
Calor is warmth — citrus, cinnamon, dried spice. For beginnings, gatherings, lived-in comfort. Aire is renewal — bright herbs, cool citrus, fresh notes. For clearing, shifting, starting again. Many pieces can be chosen in either blend.
  • What are the blessing salts made of?
Coarse sea salt, hand-ground with herbs and dried citrus in a traditional molcajete. For Calor: rose, cinnamon, dried marigold. For Aire: mint, rosemary, dried lemon. Not for ingestion — the salts are intended for the threshold, corners, or bedside.
  • Where are your pieces made?
Most are made by us, by hand, in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The tile keepsakes are crafted in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico, and finished in our studio. We source botanicals from small farms and known suppliers — never anonymous bulk.
  • Do you offer subscriptions?
Not at launch. We may introduce a seasonal box (four times a year) once we're ready. Join our notes at the bottom of the page to be first to know.
  • Do you do wholesale?
Yes — see our wholesale & partnerships page for details on client gifting, custom collections, and in-person gifting bars.
  • Can I customize a box?
For individual gifts, please write to hello@ofsoulandheart.com with what you're honoring and we'll help you build something. For larger runs (10+ pieces), use the wholesale inquiry form.
